August 2021 Newsletter

Monthly Message From Our CEO

Another summer month is coming to an end which brought some very interesting sales trends. Although prices are soaring most retail businesses are slightly reporting down, we are seeing competition tighten and companies are running more online targeted campaigns than ever before. It is imperative that we layer our marketing efforts to include multiple types and forms of marketing and outreach communications to customers ensuring they will find you instead of your competitors. We have been successfully able to get ads through their discovery phases pretty quickly so as a result we are going to make a stronger push for lifetime budget campaigns in August. This will allow us to run a more traditional style campaign and focus more on retargeting. Back to school will be the main focus to start the month and then we will follow with close out sales campaigns heading into September.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you and continue the ongoing push for growth and opportunity. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your account manager to schedule an appointment.

Monthly Message From Our CTO

August is here and with schools starting back soon, many businesses will see a slight slowdown in sales. We always suggest using this time of year to strategize and prepare for a strong 4th quarter. In this issue, we will be going over a few changes that are taking place in the digital marketing front as well as a few tips and tricks to help your business grow lean throughout the rest of the year.

Facebook’s Big Changes For Businesses

In the early summer of 2020, Facebooks new designs started to roll out. As of today, Facebook is still rolling out these changes, but the problem is that local businesses don’t understand how to effectively use the new layout.

In addition, all old content will automatically transfer to the new Page, such as posts, videos, stories, and the Groups your business is a part of. Page followers will be moved to the new Page, as long as the follower likes and follows the page.

So What Exactly is New?

  • Switching between business and individual pages is quick and easy.
  • Page management tools have been updated (now you can grant others access to the Facebook Page or tasks).
  • A simpler and more intuitive design.
  • Dark and light mode options.
  • More relevant notification methods and improvements to insights.
  • The business page will now have a separate newsfeed (the new Page lets businesses curate a newsfeed separately from a personal profile).

Googles NEW Review Removal Tool

Fake reviews have always plagued Business listings, and finally, it seems that Google is doing something to help local businesses tackle the issue.

A few months ago, Google released its review takedown request tool to help business owners handle the removal of wrong or fake reviews. With this tool, businesses can flag reviews for removal and, importantly, track the progress of their reported reviews.

Google Call History Coming Out Of Beta, Finally!

Most recently, Google’s long-awaited Call History feature (that was in Beta until just this week) has begun showing live data.

You’ll now be able to see a history of who called your business and when. Plus, you’ll have the option to view the individual caller’s history and call them back directly.

We’re not yet seeing this option in our own Google My Business profile, but it looks like this update is gradually rolling out, so keep an eye out for it in your GMB dashboard.
